The steps

How it works

  1. Mark 2 small zones in the corners of a goal.
  2. Strike first time from a rebound or a parent’s pass.
  3. Then after one touch, then after a turn.
  4. Up to 30 strikes in all, both feet. Write down your score.

Coaching point

Placement first. Both feet.

Safety: Make sure nobody is standing near the goal, the wall or the target before you strike.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Zone game: two teams of two take turns finishing into small zones. Each team beats its own last total.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (big zone), Core (medium), More (small zone). Beat your own best.

Story

You are an architect building the goal one zone at a time.
