The steps

How it works

  1. Dribble at a cone 18 yards from goal.
  2. Cut the ball sideways with the inside of your foot.
  3. Shoot on your next touch, aiming low across the keeper.
  4. Take 16 shots, 8 cutting each way, and count your on-target shots.

Coaching point

Cut, set, shoot low.

Safety: Make sure no one is standing in front of the goal or the wall before you strike.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Cut-and-score: two teams of two alternate, and each shooter cuts around the cone and finishes. Each team counts its own goals.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (cone close), Core (medium), More (weaker foot). Beat your own best.

Story

You are a skater carving around a flag on the way to the gold medal.
