The steps

How it works

  1. Place the ball 12 yards out.
  2. Plant your non-kicking foot beside the ball and strike through the middle with your laces.
  3. Aim for the bottom corners.
  4. Take 20 shots and count how many hit your target.

Coaching point

Plant, lock the ankle, follow through.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Shooting gallery: two teams of two take turns at the corner targets. Each team adds up its own hits and tries to top its last round.

Challenge

Choose your distance: Less (close), Core (12 yards), More (a step back). Beat your own best of targets hit.

Story

Each corner is a treasure chest, and you open all four with accurate shots.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best of targets hit. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
