The steps

How it works

  1. Dribble at a cone as if it were a defender.
  2. Do a scissors or stepover one yard before it.
  3. Push the ball away with the outside of the other foot and sprint 5 yards.
  4. Do 12 reps to each side.

Coaching point

Drop your shoulder to sell it, then accelerate.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Fool-the-cone: your partner stands still as the defender and says “you got me” when your fake fools them. Your pair collects ten.

Challenge

Levels: Less (walk the move), Core (jog), More (finish with a quick burst). Beat your own best out of 10 clean moves.

Story

You are a clever fox fooling the guard and slipping away.
