The steps

How it works

  1. Hold the ball in two hands, pointing slightly down.
  2. Drop it from waist height without throwing it up.
  3. Strike it with your laces and follow through high.
  4. Kick 20 to a partner or a fence.

Coaching point

Drop it, do not throw it.

Safety: Warm up your legs first and make sure nobody is in front of you when you kick.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target-kick game: two teams of two take turns kicking to target zones. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a rocket aiming at the moon.
