The steps

How it works

  1. Stand 10 yards apart in an open space.
  2. Punt the ball to your partner.
  3. Catch theirs with your hands up and elbows in.
  4. Do 20 kicks each.

Coaching point

Kick to them, not over them.

Safety: Warm up your legs first and make sure nobody is in front of you when you kick.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target-kick game: two teams of two take turns kicking to target zones. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a rocket aiming at the moon.

My best
