The steps

How it works

  1. Set four attackers in a box with one defender in the middle.
  2. When the defender slides toward one player, skip the pass to the far one.
  3. Rotate the defender every minute.
  4. Play 6 rounds.

Coaching point

See the slide, throw where they came from.

Safety: Wear the gear your rules require for any partner drill. Boys: NOCSAE helmet, mouthguard, gloves, arm pads and ND200 shoulder pads. Girls: SEI-certified F3077 eyewear and a mouthguard.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Look-up game: a partner shows fingers behind your shoulder as you cradle, and you call the number. Swap, and count correct calls together.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (one number), Core (two), More (a number and a color). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a lookout on a ship, calling what you see.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
