The steps

How it works

  1. Start on a hash mark of the 9 yards (8 m) arc.
  2. On the whistle, drive two hard steps toward goal.
  3. Shoot before a trailing defender can recover.
  4. Take 12 shots.

Coaching point

Two hard steps, then shoot.

Safety: Shoot only at an empty goal or a goalie in full gear (ND200 chest protector). Keep everyone out of the shooting lane.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target game: two teams of two take turns shooting at corner targets. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a goal hunter, and each corner is a treasure chest.
