The steps

How it works

  1. Set cones at 8, 12, 16 and 20 yards.
  2. Shoot with your weaker foot from the closest cone.
  3. Move back a cone after two goals in a row.
  4. Play for 12 minutes and record your farthest cone.

Coaching point

Same technique, either foot.

Safety: Make sure no one is standing in front of the goal or the wall before you strike.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Ladder climb: two teams of two take turns, and each team climbs its own distance ladder with weaker-foot goals.

Challenge

Choose your rungs: Less (3), Core (4), More (restart with the other foot). Beat your own highest rung.

Story

You are climbing a rope ladder to a treehouse, one goal per rung.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own highest rung. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
