The steps

How it works

  1. Stand 12 steps out at an angle to the goal, 5 steps from a wall.
  2. Pass to the wall; before it comes back, glance at the goal.
  3. Finish first time into a corner.
  4. Do 5 sets of 6, both feet.

Coaching point

Know where the goal is before the ball comes.

Safety: Make sure nobody is standing near the goal, the wall or the target before you strike.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Peek-and-score: a partner rolls the ball as you glance at the goal and finish first time. Pairs keep a total.

Challenge

Levels: Less (slow roll), Core (medium), More (call the corner before you shoot). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a hawk scanning the field before you swoop in to score.

My best
