The steps

How it works

  1. Pass the ball against a wall.
  2. Receive with the inside of your foot and cushion it to a stop.
  3. Alternate feet every 10 reps.
  4. Do 40 touches.

Coaching point

Cushion the ball as if catching an egg.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Soft landing pairs: your partner passes and you cushion the ball dead inside a box of cones. Your pair collects 20 soft landings.

Challenge

Choose your level: Less (slow pass), Core (medium pass), More (turn to a second cone after the touch). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are landing a spaceship on the moon, so the ball must touch down as softly as an egg.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
