The steps

How it works

  1. Set 6 cones in a zigzag, 2 big steps apart.
  2. Dribble through with the inside of your foot, then the outside.
  3. On the way back, roll the ball with your sole around each cone.
  4. Do 4 rounds; try to go a little faster each time, ball still close.

Coaching point

Lots of little touches. Head up between cones.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Path-maker: take turns building a winding cone path for your partner to dribble. Each new path adds a surprise turn.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (big touches), Core (inside, outside and sole), More (weaker foot only). Beat your own cleanest run.

Story

You are a hiker following a winding trail through the forest.
