Grown-Up Says Dribble

The child dribbles; when the grown-up calls a body part (“knee!”, “elbow!”, “tummy!”), they stop the ball and touch it with that part.

The steps

How it works

  1. Your child dribbles slowly around a small space.
  2. Call a body part: “Knee!” They stop the ball and touch it with their knee.
  3. Then they dribble again until the next call.
  4. Use knee, elbow, tummy, hand and foot. Let your child call one too.

Coaching point

Praise the try: “Quick stop! Great listening.”

Safety: Play on grass or a soft, flat, clear space with nothing to trip on. Stop for a drink and a rest whenever they want one.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Grown-up says: when the grown-up calls a body part, you stop the ball and touch it with that part. Take turns being the caller.

Story

You are a robot, and the caller is your remote control.
