Two-Point Stance Accelerations

From a split standing stance, accelerate hard for 10 to 20 yards with full rest. Short, sharp and high quality.

The steps

How it works

  1. Stand with one foot forward, weight on the front foot, opposite arm forward.
  2. Drive out with low, powerful pushes for 10 to 20 yards.
  3. Rise gradually to upright running by the end.
  4. Rest 60 to 90 seconds; do 5 to 6 reps and time against your own best.

Coaching point

Push, push, rise.

Safety: Warm up first. Take a full walk-back rest between runs; fast running when tired is how pulls happen. Stop if anything hurts.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Launch pad: one partner counts down and the other takes a smooth start. Swap each turn and rest fully.

Challenge

Pick a distance: Less (5 yards), Core (10), More (15). Aim for quality starts and full rest.

Story

You are a space rocket lifting off, then coasting to a stop.

My best

Beat your own count

Aim for quality starts and full rest. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
