The steps

How it works

  1. Set the ball on a tee and pick a target behind the posts.
  2. Step back and to the side the same way every time.
  3. Breathe, look at the target, then the ball, and kick.
  4. Take 12 kicks from three angles and count the ones over.

Coaching point

Same routine, every time.

Safety: Warm up your legs first and make sure nobody is in front of you when you kick.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target-kick game: two teams of two take turns kicking to target zones. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a rocket aiming at the moon.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
