The steps

How it works

  1. Hold the ball upright and drop it point first.
  2. Strike it the moment it bounces up.
  3. Start 10 yards from a target and move back as you improve.
  4. Kick 15 and count the ones on target.

Coaching point

Bounce and strike together.

Safety: Warm up your legs first and make sure nobody is in front of you when you kick.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target-kick game: two teams of two take turns kicking to target zones. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a rocket aiming at the moon.

My best
