The steps

How it works

  1. Your partner kicks or tosses the ball high.
  2. Call "mine" loudly and move under it.
  3. Turn side-on, arms up, and catch it against your chest.
  4. Make 15 catches.

Coaching point

Call it, turn side-on.

Safety: Keep your eyes on the ball and catch with two feet on the ground. Only one player goes for each ball.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target-kick game: two teams of two take turns kicking to target zones. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a rocket aiming at the moon.

My best
