The steps

How it works

  1. Roll the ball and scoop it by running through it.
  2. Toss it a foot above your head.
  3. Catch it by giving with the stick.
  4. Do 20, 10 with each hand on top.

Coaching point

Scoop through, give on the catch.

Safety: No body contact: go for the ball, never the player. Helmet and gloves on when a partner rolls the ball.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Scoop game: a partner rolls the ball and you scoop it on the move with nobody contesting it. The pair counts clean scoops, then swaps.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (slow roll), Core (medium), More (to your side). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a gardener scooping up the golden apples.

My best
