The steps

How it works

  1. Your partner rolls a ball between two cones.
  2. Run through it and scoop.
  3. Roll away from the cone on your stick side, keeping your body between the cone and the stick.
  4. Do 12 reps, switching sides.

Coaching point

Scoop, then turn away from pressure.

Safety: No body contact: go for the ball, never the player. Helmet and gloves on when a partner rolls the ball.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Scoop game: a partner rolls the ball and you scoop it on the move with nobody contesting it. The pair counts clean scoops, then swaps.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (slow roll), Core (medium), More (to your side). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a gardener scooping up the golden apples.
