The steps

How it works

  1. A parent plays music and you move around the room.
  2. When it stops, freeze on one foot in a shape.
  3. Hold until the music starts again.
  4. Play 10 rounds and try a new shape each time.

Coaching point

Freeze fast, hold still.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Beam buddies: walk the line or low beam while a partner cheers each steady step. Swap, and the pair collects ten steady crossings.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (a wide line), Core (low beam), More (add a turn). Beat your own best steady crossing.

Story

You are a tightrope walker over a canyon, calm and steady.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best steady crossing. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
