The steps

How it works

  1. Put a strip of tape on the floor.
  2. Walk forward on your toes with arms out to the side.
  3. Walk backward, then sideways with a step-together.
  4. Do 5 trips each way without stepping off.

Coaching point

Tall head, eyes on the end of the line.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Beam buddies: walk the line or low beam while a partner cheers each steady step. Swap, and the pair collects ten steady crossings.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (a wide line), Core (low beam), More (add a turn). Beat your own best steady crossing.

Story

You are a tightrope walker over a canyon, calm and steady.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best steady crossing. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
