The steps

How it works

  1. Stand tall on one foot.
  2. Lift the other foot so its toe touches the side of your knee.
  3. Hold with arms up and count out loud.
  4. Do 5 holds per leg and try to beat your own best.

Coaching point

Squeeze your belly, hold still.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Beam buddies: walk the line or low beam while a partner cheers each steady step. Swap, and the pair collects ten steady crossings.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (a wide line), Core (low beam), More (add a turn). Beat your own best steady crossing.

Story

You are a tightrope walker over a canyon, calm and steady.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best steady crossing. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
