The steps

How it works

  1. Lay a towel 3 steps away.
  2. Stand close with the ball back and your weight on your front foot.
  3. Rock your shoulders like a putt.
  4. Chip 20 and count landings on the towel.

Coaching point

Weight forward, quiet hands.

Safety: At home, use only foam or plastic balls and swing only in a clear space with nothing breakable nearby.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Chip-to-circle game: chip into hula-hoops at different distances, and the pair keeps one total. Swap after each ball.

Challenge

Pick a hoop: Less (close), Core (medium), More (far). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a gardener dropping seeds into the right flower pot.

My best

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
