Flamingo Balance

Stand on one foot like a flamingo while you count together, then switch feet. Balance is one of the first skills every sport uses.

The steps

How it works

  1. Stand next to your child, both on one foot, arms out like wings.
  2. Count slowly together to 5.
  3. Switch feet and count again.
  4. Try it with eyes on a toy, then with a little wobble game: flap your wings.

Coaching point

Praise the try: “You held so still! Let’s try the other foot.”

Safety: Stand near something to hold if they wobble a lot. Bare feet or shoes on a non-slip floor or grass.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Add a helper: a favorite toy joins in “Flamingo Balance” and cheers for every try. Everyone gets a turn.

Story

You are a lion cub, and your toy friend is learning from you.
