Approach Consistency Chart

Your coach marks a target zone at the end of the dry board; count how many hurdles land in it and beat your own last count.

The steps

How it works

  1. Your coach tapes a small zone where your hurdle should land.
  2. Do 10 full approaches into the landing mat.
  3. Count the hurdles that land in the zone.
  4. Write it down and compare only with your own last chart.

Coaching point

Trust your start spot.

Safety: Only on a dry board into a soft landing mat or pit with a diving coach watching.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Approach rhythm: a partner claps the steps while you walk through your approach on the deck, then swap. Your coach watches.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (walk), Core (your usual approach rhythm), More (add the hurdle with your coach watching). Beat your own steadiest rhythm.

Story

You are a drumbeat walking to the end of the board.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own steadiest rhythm. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
