The steps

How it works

  1. Set a loop of cones about 40 yards around.
  2. Run the loop at a strong, steady pace for 30 seconds.
  3. Walk for 30 seconds.
  4. Do 2 blocks of 6 rounds with 2 minutes rest between.

Coaching point

Steady effort, easy walk.

Safety: Bring water, go at a pace where you can still talk, and stop if you feel dizzy, sick or have chest pain.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Circuit buddies: go around the cone circuit together, cheering at each cone, then rest together.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (15 seconds), Core (30), More (45). Walk between rounds.

Story

You are an explorer visiting every checkpoint.
