The steps

How it works

  1. Stand 6 yards from a wall.
  2. Pass with the inside of your foot and receive the rebound.
  3. Alternate feet; do 30 each foot.
  4. Move back a step for a harder set.

Coaching point

Lock the ankle and pass through the middle of the ball.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Wall rally: you and a partner take turns passing off the wall. Your pair keeps one running count and starts again if the ball gets away.

Challenge

Levels: Less (6 yards back), Core (8 yards), More (one touch). Beat your own best run of clean passes.

Story

The wall is a magic mirror that hands the ball back to whoever passes kindly.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best run of clean passes. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
