The steps

How it works

  1. Stand 4 steps out from a small goal, facing away from it.
  2. Your parent rolls you the ball.
  3. Turn with the inside or outside of your foot.
  4. Pass it into the goal with the inside of your foot. Count your goals out of 10.

Coaching point

Turn away, then pass it in.

Safety: Make sure nobody is standing near the goal, the wall or the target before you strike.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Turn-and-pass duo: receive with your back to the goal, turn away from a cone and pass it in. Swap with your partner and keep one pair total.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (stand still), Core (a quick turn), More (use the weaker foot). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a spy sneaking the ball into the goal when no one is looking.
