The steps

How it works

  1. Mark three zones side by side across a 30-yard grid.
  2. One player stands in each zone.
  3. Pass from one side to the other through the middle player, or skip them with a longer pass.
  4. Count successful switches in 5 minutes, then rotate.

Coaching point

If one side is busy, go to the other.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Zone switch: two teams use three zones, and a team scores by passing from one wing to the other without losing the ball. Each team tracks its own count.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (stay in your zone), Core (switch zones), More (switch on one touch). Beat your own best.

Story

You are a lighthouse keeper sending signals from one side of the bay to the other.

Beat your own best. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
