The steps

How it works

  1. Set up 2 cones as a small gate 8 steps away.
  2. Hold the ball in one hand, step forward with the other foot and crouch low.
  3. Roll the ball like a bowling ball so it goes through the gate without bouncing.
  4. Do 15 rolls, then move the gate to the side.

Coaching point

Low and smooth, follow through to the target.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Bowling passes: roll the ball to a partner’s target gate. Pairs count rolls through the gate.

Challenge

Pick a gate: Less (wide), Core (medium), More (narrow). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a bowling star: strike the pins with a perfect roll.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
