The steps

How it works

  1. Stand over the ball with your feet apart.
  2. Tap it softly from the inside of one foot to the other.
  3. Stay on the balls of your feet; keep the ball between your feet.
  4. Do 4 rounds of 30 seconds and count your touches.

Coaching point

Soft ankles, quick little taps.

Safety: Keep the taps small so the ball stays between your feet.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Tap-and-switch: tap the ball between the insides of your feet while a partner calls “switch” to change direction. Swap callers.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (slow), Core (steady), More (quick). Beat your own best count of clean taps in 20 seconds.

Story

You are a metronome, keeping a steady beat with your feet.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best count of clean taps in 20 seconds. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
