The steps

How it works

  1. One foot in each square, then two feet.
  2. Add lateral shuffles through the ladder.
  3. Do each pattern 3 times.
  4. Rest 30 seconds between patterns.

Coaching point

Light feet, quick taps.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Copy-cat pairs: one makes up a ladder pattern, the partner copies it, then swap. Together you make five patterns.

Challenge

Levels: Less (walk through), Core (jog), More (add a hop at the end). Beat your own clean runs.

Story

The ladder is a river of stepping stones, and you touch each one without getting your feet wet.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own clean runs. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
