The steps

How it works

  1. Set two shoes as a small gate two steps away.
  2. Cup the soft ball on the blade, eyes on the gate.
  3. Sweep it gently through the gate; fetch it and go again.
  4. Do 20 each side.

Coaching point

Cup, sweep, follow through low.

Safety: Use a soft ball and slow sweeps only, with nothing breakable nearby.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Tape-to-tape pairs: pass back and forth and count passes in a row to beat your own last round.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (close), Core (medium), More (one touch). Beat your own longest run of passes.

Story

You are a pair of dolphins playing catch across the bay.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own longest run of passes. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
