The steps

How it works

  1. Stand 8 feet from the net with the puck on your backhand.
  2. Cup the puck on the heel of the blade.
  3. Pull up and through to lift it.
  4. Take 30 shots and count the ones under the bar.

Coaching point

Heel to toe, lift through it.

Safety: Keep your stick down and make sure the area around you is clear.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target-corner game: two teams of two take turns shooting at corner targets. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a goal hunter, and each corner is a treasure chest.

My best
