The steps

How it works

  1. Jump straight up from the floor.
  2. Land with feet hip-width, knees bent over toes and arms forward.
  3. Freeze for 3 seconds while a partner checks your feet did not move.
  4. Do 15 and count your stuck landings.

Coaching point

Soft knees, still feet.

Safety: Land on two feet with soft knees on a non-slip mat. Stop if your knees or ankles hurt.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Skill-card game: pick a card with a skill you already know and show it with your coach nearby. The pair collects five clean skills together.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (a shape or roll), Core (your usual skill), More (a clean skill with a stuck landing). Move up only with your coach’s OK.

Story

You are a circus star performing your favorite act.
