The steps

How it works

  1. Practice your leap on a floor line 5 times.
  2. Move to the low beam with your coach beside you.
  3. Leap, land with a bent knee and hold your balance.
  4. Do 8 leaps.

Coaching point

Eyes on the end, land soft.

Safety: Only in a gym with a qualified coach and proper mats. Never try this at home.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Beam buddies: walk the line or low beam while a partner cheers each steady step. Swap, and the pair collects ten steady crossings.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (a wide line), Core (low beam), More (add a turn). Beat your own best steady crossing.

Story

You are a tightrope walker over a canyon, calm and steady.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best steady crossing. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
