The steps

How it works

  1. Put a coin 6 steps away on a rug or carpet.
  2. Putt 10 balls toward it.
  3. Count the ones that stop within a foot of the coin.
  4. Move the coin and try again.

Coaching point

Roll it to the coin.

Safety: At home, use only foam or plastic balls and swing only in a clear space with nothing breakable nearby.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Putting ladder: a pair putts from one distance, then moves back a step whenever the pair has made two in a row. Swap putters.

Challenge

Pick a start: Less (3 feet), Core (5 feet), More (8 feet). Beat your own farthest step on the ladder.

Story

You are an explorer climbing a ladder to the treasure cup.

My best
