The steps

How it works

  1. Start 15 yards out.
  2. Dribble in with small taps.
  3. Push the ball into the goal from about 7 yards.
  4. Take 15 shots.

Coaching point

Close control, then shoot.

Safety: Keep the ball on the ground. Never raise it toward a person. Shoot only at an empty goal, or at a goalkeeper in full kit with a coach running it. Nobody downfield or behind the goal.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target-corner game: two teams of two take turns shooting at corner targets. Each team counts only its own hits.

Challenge

Pick a target: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a goal hunter, and each corner is a treasure chest.
