The steps

How it works

  1. Stand tall with soft knees, arms bent.
  2. Patter your feet as fast as you can on the spot for 10 seconds.
  3. Rest 20 seconds, breathing easy.
  4. Do 8 rounds; on the last 3, finish with one big step forward and freeze.

Coaching point

Light and fast, like the floor is hot.

Safety: Land softly with knees over toes on a non-slip floor. Stop if your knees or ankles hurt.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Field follow-the-leader: one person leads a movement and the group copies. Swap the leader each time.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (slower or smaller), Core (as written), More (one extra twist). Aim for smooth form and compare only with your own last time.

Story

You are a scout exploring the field before the game.

My best

Beat your own count

Aim for smooth form and compare only with your own last time. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
