The steps

How it works

  1. Stand in a ready stance facing your partner.
  2. Your partner points in a direction with no warning.
  3. Move 3 yards that way and return to the middle.
  4. Do sets of 6 points; swap roles.

Coaching point

See it, then go.

Safety: Use a clear, non-slip space and change direction only as fast as you can control. Stop if a knee or ankle hurts.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Point and Go: a partner points and you move that way and come back. Swap, and let your pair count clean reactions together.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (one direction), Core (two), More (four). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a traffic controller reacting to every signal.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
