The steps

How it works

  1. Warm up by walking for 3 minutes.
  2. Run at a pace where you can say a full sentence.
  3. If you cannot talk, slow down or walk.
  4. Keep going for 12 to 15 minutes, then walk 2 minutes.

Coaching point

If you can talk, the pace is right.

Safety: Bring water, go at a pace where you can still talk, and stop if you feel dizzy, sick or have chest pain.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Chatty run: run with a friend or a parent and tell stories. If you can talk, you are at the right pace.

Challenge

Pick a time: Less (5 minutes), Core (8), More (12). Compare only with your own last run.

Story

You are on a gentle adventure to find the best view.
