The steps

How it works

  1. A parent or friend calls hollow, arch, tuck, pike or straddle.
  2. Get into the shape as fast as you can and freeze.
  3. Hold for 5 seconds while they check your toes and legs.
  4. Do 20 calls and count your clean ones.

Coaching point

Find it fast, freeze it tight.

Safety: Pain in your lower back, worse when you bend back, is never normal: stop and tell a parent or coach. Keep back bends few and gentle.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Form spotters: one shows the skill and the partner shares one thing they liked, like pointed toes or tight legs. Swap.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (shape only), Core (the skill), More (the skill with a held finish). Beat your own cleanest finish.

Story

You are a statue in a museum, perfectly still at the end.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own cleanest finish. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
