The steps

How it works

  1. Say "one" as you swing back.
  2. Say "two" as you swing through.
  3. Keep the same rhythm for every ball.
  4. Hit 15 and count the ones that felt smooth.

Coaching point

One back, two through.

Safety: Keep everyone clear before every swing: look in front and behind, and make sure no one is within two club lengths. Swing only where a coach or parent says it is safe.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Fairway-target game: two teams of two take turns hitting to a target zone, standing well apart. Each team counts only its own zone hits.

Challenge

Pick a zone: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are sending a rocket down the fairway to the landing pad.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
