The steps

How it works

  1. Pick your own goal, like 5 makes from 10 at 4 feet.
  2. Do your full routine on every putt.
  3. If you reach it, move the goal one foot back.
  4. Note how your breathing felt.

Coaching point

Trust the routine.

Safety: Stand back from anyone who is chipping or putting, keep everyone clear of your club, and wait your turn before you walk onto the green.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Routine game: make a short routine (breath, aim, swing) and teach it to your partner. Swap, and notice how calm it feels.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (one breath), Core (full routine), More (the routine after a miss). Beat your own calmest routine.

Story

You are a pilot running through the pre-flight checks.

Beat your own count

Beat your own calmest routine. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
