The steps

How it works

  1. Your passer takes a three-step drop as you start.
  2. Run a hitch at 5 yards and turn on their last step.
  3. Catch and turn upfield.
  4. Run 15 routes, mixing hitch, out and slant.

Coaching point

Same depth, every time.

Safety: Warm up your arm first and stop if your shoulder or elbow hurts. Throw only where the area is clear.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Route cards: a partner calls a route (post, slant, out), you run it and catch the pass, then swap. The pair counts routes completed.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (walk the route), Core (jog), More (add a quick change of speed). Beat your own best.

Story

You are following a treasure map with an X at the end.
