The steps

How it works

  1. Tape a straight line and put a paper arrow at the far end.
  2. Close your eyes and picture your stance, your steps and your finish.
  3. Open your eyes and walk the approach in slow motion, eyes on the arrow.
  4. Do 5 frames, saying your plan out loud before each one.

Coaching point

See it clean, feel it calm.

Safety: Clear a small space with nothing to trip on or knock over. Stop if anything hurts.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Routine game: make a short routine (breath, aim, roll) and teach it to your partner. Swap, and notice how calm it feels.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (one breath), Core (full routine), More (the routine after a miss). Beat your own calmest routine.

Story

You are a pilot running through the pre-flight checks.
