The steps

How it works

  1. Pick a target board at the arrows.
  2. Pick the board where your ball should start to hook.
  3. Line your feet up so the ball can travel over both.
  4. Roll 12 and count balls that turned near your point.

Coaching point

See the whole line first.

Safety: Never step past the foul line; the lane is oily and slippery. Wait for the pinsetter to finish before you bowl, and never go down the lane.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Arrow game: aim at a mark on the lane, and the pair counts how many rolls cross it. Two teams of two each track only their own total.

Challenge

Pick a mark: Less (the first arrow), Core (the second), More (the third). Beat your own best out of 10.

Story

You are a navigator following a star down the lane.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 10. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
