The steps

How it works

  1. Face your partner, both in stance, an arm's length apart.
  2. One leads, moving in any direction; the other copies.
  3. No grabbing or pushing.
  4. Switch leaders every 30 seconds for 6 rounds.

Coaching point

Stay square, stay low.

Safety: Use a clean mat or soft carpet with space around you. Stop if anything hurts. Pair with a partner of similar size and age. Skin check first: no partner work with a rash, sore or cold sore until a doctor clears it. Clean the mat before you start and shower after.

Game version

Stance mirror: a partner leads stance, motion and level changes and you copy, with no contact. Swap leaders every 30 seconds.

Challenge
