The steps

How it works

  1. With your coach, choose 3 warm-up throws and 3 best-effort throws.
  2. Take each throw only on the coach's call.
  3. Note which cue helped your best throw.
  4. Finish with one technical throw at easy effort.

Coaching point

Quality over quantity.

Safety: Only in a cleared throwing sector with a coach watching. Nobody stands in front, and you walk out to fetch only when the coach says so. Never throw a real implement at home.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target throws: throw soft implements to a target zone only when the coach calls. Everyone throws, then everyone retrieves together. The pair keeps one total.

Challenge

Pick a zone: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 6.

Story

You are a hero throwing a stone across the river.

Beat your own count

Beat your own best out of 6. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
