The steps

How it works

  1. Practice the glide without a shot first.
  2. Hold the shot at your neck and glide into the power position.
  3. Turn your hips and push up and out.
  4. Do 10 throws only when the sector is clear.

Coaching point

Low glide, tall finish.

Safety: Only in a cleared throwing sector with a coach watching. Nobody stands in front, and you walk out to fetch only when the coach says so. Never throw a real implement at home.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Target throws: throw soft implements to a target zone only when the coach calls. Everyone throws, then everyone retrieves together. The pair keeps one total.

Challenge

Pick a zone: Less (big), Core (medium), More (small). Beat your own best out of 6.

Story

You are a hero throwing a stone across the river.
